The Tree of Life is a timeless symbol that can be found in almost every culture around the world — and represents connectedness, growth, hope, and harmony. Its “fruits” are the fruits of happiness — love, joy, and wonder among them. A dove, the symbol for peace, nests in the tree’s branches. Over a year in the making, Market of Star's captivating version of the Tree of Life was carefully adapted from an American archival lithograph from 1891. Worn and damaged, the print needed to be reconstructed, repaired, and reworked to restore its vibrant rich colours. To compliment this stunning piece, they created the printed trim using a French silk embroidery panel from the early 19th century, in beautiful tones of aqua and gold.
